Health Sharing Plans

A lot of people get their health coverage from their employer, but it’s becoming more and more common for people to shop for their health plan on the private market. Whether that be because they are self-employed, their employer doesn’t offer an insurance plan or they just want to see all of their options.

The problem is the healthcare bloat. It is becoming increasingly expensive every year to cover yourself and your family on the individual market. The exchanges help some people, but not everyone. Those that are over a certain income limit see no assistance or relief from these raising rates at all. What do they do?

Enter the Healthcare Sharing Ministry. These types of plans are not new, but they are gaining popularity as the alternative to high-cost ACA plans. These plans are not insurance, and they’re not for everyone. They do, however, help a lot of individuals and families get access to healthcare coverage that is much more affordable to the ACA Plans that are available now.

These plans are exempt from the ACA, which means as a member of a health share, you are not subject to the “individual mandate” – the tax penalty for not having insurance. There are also no additional taxes or fees on your premium, making the monthly cost even more affordable to you.

You should read the full brochure to see if one of these plans might be right for you!

Comprehensive Plans

Designed for those who are looking for affordable alternatives to health insurance and still want coverage similar to that of what traditional health insurance offers – from the doctor’s office to the operating room.

3 Comprehensive Plans to Fit Your Life & Budget

Unlike with traditional insurance, you are able to pick your MSRA (like a deductible) and your out-of-pocket maximum. They come in pairs; $1000/$3000; $2,500/$7,500; $5,000/$15,000; $10,000/$30,000

The lower the MSRA, the higher the monthly cost. But this gives you a unique advantage in selecting your benefits. For example, if you don’t mind paying slightly higher fees when you visit the doctor but still want strong coverage in case of an expensive medical event, you can enroll into the Bronze plan with a $1,000 or $2,500 MSRA. On the other hand, if you want to spend less when visiting doctors and aren’t concerned about more  catastrophic events, you could enroll int he Gold Plan with a $5,000 or $10,000 MSRA.

After the MSRA is met, the plan pays for 60%, 70% or 80% of the expense, depending on the tier you select. You would have to pay the remaining 40%/30%/20%.

Services that require a consult fee do not require that the MSRA be met first.

All services shown are assuming the provider(s) seen are in the Multiplan PCHS network.
